Abici Time Machine

Finally got this together. It's a bummer that their are only 2 TT's left in the year but that will give me some time to get the fit sorted out. I'm probably going to switch to straight aero bars but these will work for now.Built it up mostly of stuff I already had, Dura Ace 10spd drivetrain, Rolf Vector Pro wheels, Profile bull horns, etc. Given the deal I got on the frame it's well worth it, but not with some challenges. The frame maker went out of business and this was the last of a custom order for a college team in Oregon. The kids father finally got the frame 6 months later, but it was missing the seatpost clamp and headset. The clamp was seriously over engineered and I finally found a guy in Mesa Arizona that had a few of them custom machined. It took a few months to get things together but it rides great!

We'll see how I do at the state TT tomorrow. :)

love your abici, I am actually thinking about buying one myself. Can you give me an idea of your size and what size your frame is?

Thanks

Thanks!

This is a 56.5cm frame. I'm 6'1" with a 32" inseam (my legs are a little short for my height) and it fits me well. If you were any taller it might be good to look at the next size up.

The seat post mast is designed to be cut to fit, but you can always have it shorter. I don't think the aerodynamics will be too compromised. :)

It's a great bike. Are you looking at buying one used? I don't know of many others out there.

Brian, I'm putting together an Abici TM myself after getting a screaming deal on the frame... slight problem though... the screw to loosen the seat post clamp is stripped. Do you still have the contact info for the guy in AZ who got your seat post clamp from?
I'd like to have a potential replacement lined up before I get to wild and crazy on trying to extract the one that's currently in my frame.

Good Luck! Worst case is that you could cut the seat mast if it's not too short to help get it out and retap the treads. Whatever you do try to hold on to the clamp and not damage it! I found out that the curves of the seat mast are very unique to the design so no other manufacturer's clamps fit (gotta love custom!).
